The headland to the East of La Herradura bay 'Punta de la Mona' is in the top 10 most expensive real estate areas in all of Spain. 

Properties on the East side of this promontory can have 180º views from the snow-capped mountain tops of the Sierra Nevada to the entire coastline of Almuñecar, Salobreña and Motril and the Mediterranean Sea to the South.  Properties facing West can enjoy spectacular sunsets as well as views of the coastline all the way to Torre del Mar and beyond.  The South and West side of the Punta de La Mona has mostly villas.

All of the properties on the East side of the Punta de La Mona promontory down to the Marina are considered to be in the 'Marina del Este' area.  There is easy access to the Marina and to a lovely beach that is for public use.  This side of the headland offers a wide range of properties from apartments to townhouses and villas.
